Get To Know Us

Christine Fiddler (Nanastewiskwew) is a Cree female who originates from the treaty 6 territory of the Waterhen Lake First Nation. She currently resides in Saskatoon. She was brought up with a strong spiritual traditional background and believes in educating oneself continuously throughout life. Christine does occasional teaching contracts with the First Nations University while running her business, Free the Spirit Consulting Services Inc., which has been operating since December 2016.

Cecilia Fiddler (Walking Bearclaw Woman) has over thirty years experience teaching life skills. She holds strong First Nations cultural knowledge and uses the medicine wheel teachings in her presentations. Cecilia is the supporting elder, mentor, and facilitator for Free the Spirit Consulting Services.

What We Offer

Free the Spirit Consulting Services has offered presentations, workshops, and short-term programs on personal development, self-care, cultural revitalization, and cross-cultural relations for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. We serve people who seek personal development and better understanding of the distinct histories, cultures, and worldviews of Indigenous people. In 2024, we continue business operations by offering facilitation services along with Research and Writing services to help develop projects, programs, and policies that serve Indigenous and marginalized groups.

Indigenous Insights sessions (currently available) – Indigenous worldviews, knowledge, and history on various topics including Treaties, Health, Medicine, the Indian Residential School System, the 60s Scoop, Day Schools, etc. Storytelling and Oral traditions, music, drumming, dance. Medicine Wheel teachings.


Personal Development workshops (currently available) – Personal development workshops provide a longer-term service that incorporates a wide range of topics. The facilitator focuses on the personal development and increasing self-awareness of clients with hours usually running from 1 to 7 hours per day. Communication skills, conflict management skills, team building, self-care. (The following workshops starting in 2025 - Addressing family violence, addictions, etc.)

Research & Writing Services (currently available) – contributing insights into the development of projects, programs, policies that impart an Indigenous worldview and that are created to best serve Indigenous people and communities.
